In addition to helping reduce needle pop-off, the luer lock mechanism allows for the exchange of needle (such as using a large gauge needle for draw-up and a fine gauge for injection). MinimLL™ syringe barrels and plungers are manufactured from Polypropylene, which has a long history of use in various medical devices and is considered a safe vessel for most uses; with a polyisoprene rubber tip.
